About the brand...
Once seen as an underground Japanese label, A Bathing Ape has recently taken it's spot centre stage after it's high-profile exposure from hip-hop artists such as Pharrell Williams and Lil' Wayne.
Nigo's brand was named as a tongue in cheek stab at the Japanese youth who are said to 'bathe in lukewarm water' (live comfortably).
With a range of items that are released in small quantities, BAPE became a highly desireable brand in it's homeland before finding a homes in the UK and the US.
Due to it's increase in popularity, the brand has been hit with an amazingly large amount of fake items flooding the market.
BAPE's signature designs have come to include all-over camo print and the shark hoody.
Hype has certainly driven BAPE in to the mainstream even more and has lead to people queueing outside the numerous Busy Workshops (BWS) for hours, if not days, to get their hands on the latest items.
