About the brand...
Billionaire Boys Club is the result of a collaboration betwen music produced Pharrell Williams and BAPE founder Nigo.
The brand was originally a joint venture between Pharrell, Reebok and Nigo, but due to differences in direction, the brand was was put on hold until legal issues were resolved.
In spring 2005, A Bathing Ape released some BBC branded items in limited quantities that became highly desireable due to Pharrell's appearances in music videos while wearing the BBC t-shirts with the 'OG' or season 0 logo.
Soon after, the brand experienced a few more difficulties when the original BBC (British Broadcasting Company) took legal action to stop the acronym BBC being used the Billionaire Boys Club brand.
Due to this, the brand was launched much later than originally planned along with a suprise new logo and direction.
The brand's signature design soon moved away from being the BBC moonman or astronaut and took the diamond dollar motif to be it's distinguishing feature for many of it's products.
